Description
A morning full of activities celebrating the Red River and the organizations that support it! Students will rotate around stations completing experiments and games- from measuring rain guages to observing the difference in venomous and non-venomous snakes to learning to read the maps that help captains navigate the river.
J Bennett Johnston Waterway Visitor Center
The J. Bennett Johnston Waterway Regional Visitor Center provides the opportunity for people of all ages to learn about the Red River, past and present. The center tells the story of how the Corps of Engineers worked to tame the mighty Red for navigation and recreation.
Interactive Educational Programs are available for groups. Program topics include Engineering, Navigation, History, Environmental Stewardship, and Water Safety.
