On March 16th, there will be a free workshop hosted by Keep Louisiana Beautiful focused on environmental education. The workshop aims to equip K-5 educators with valuable insights and resources to instill a sense of responsibility for environmental stewardship in students. We believe that this is crucial given the profound societal shifts our children are experiencing, often growing up indoors and disconnected from the natural world. Workshop Details: Date: March 16th Location: Audubon Zoo at 6500 Magazine St., New Orleans Registration: Online registration is available, and space is limited to 50 participants per workshop. Stipends for Teachers: We are pleased to announce that KLB is offering stipends to participating teachers. Those who attend and stay for the entire duration of the workshop will receive a $50 stipend. Additionally, there is an opportunity to earn an additional $100 to implement the lessons covered in the workshop. Program Overview: The workshop will cover a range of topics, including: -Impact of litter on wildlife -Reducing waste in your personal life -Plastic pollution and microplastics -Mapping litter at school -Recycling, reusing, and reducing -Watersheds The goal of the program is to increase knowledge and awareness, leading to positive changes in perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors related to caring for the environment and community.
