LCM’s mission is to contribute to the region’s future prosperity by engaging children’s potential and making that potential visible. Through play, shared explorations, and in dialogue with adults, LCM connects children to each other, their environment, and communities. It envisions a world where communities value children, strengthen and support families, and improve life outcomes by ensuring access to safe, innovative learning experiences. LCM’s expansive indoor/outdoor campus is the epicenter of LCM’s programs, which are designed for children from birth through third grade who have various learning styles and abilities. Annually, LCM welcomes approximately 190,000 local and out-of-town visitors and engages approximately 12,000 New Orleans area youth and adults through its community outreach programs.
