UTNO Teacher Leader Program Opportunity
For Orleans Parish School Educators, Staff, and Collegiate Professors
The UTNO Teacher Leader Program is a unique leadership development opportunity designed for educators, school staff, and collegiate faculty committed to transforming public education in Orleans Parish. This program supports participants in deepening their leadership capacity, engaging in action research, and contributing to equity-focused change across schools and communities.
Participants in the program will:
• Build a strong understanding of UTNO, the landscape of public education in New Orleans, and key issues impacting students and educators.
• Design and carry out a personalized action research project—no prior research experience required.
• Receive a stipend of up to $1,500 upon successful completion.
• Attend in-person sessions at the UTNO office from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the following dates: September 16, October 18, November 15, January 24, and April 18.
• Participate in virtual sessions on December 6, February 28, and March 21.
• Present their project during a culminating showcase celebration.
• Collaborate with fellow leaders to strengthen the collective voice of UTNO.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The final deadline to apply is Sunday, August 10, 2025.
